Our club is proud to sponsor and be involved with many community service and fundraising activities. Read about some of our most recent projects below.
Kiwanis Kare Kits
In cooperation with Associated Bank and with sponsorship by Delta Dental, our club supplies hygiene products and lice kits for students in the Stevens Point School District. School District personnel, mostly social workers or school nurses, distribute items to students on the basis of need. Items of greatest need include toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, and feminine hygiene products. Also supplied were winter gloves and mittens, underwear, and socks. We supply almost 1000 items each year.
Making a Difference Award
We recognize and present awards to one deserving sixth grade student from each of the eleven area public and private elementary/middle schools every school year.
Bell-ringing for the Salvation Army
Each year, club members brave the cold to ‘ring the bell’ for the Salvation Army at a Stevens Point location.
UW-Stevens Point Circle K
Our club helps to support the UW-Stevens Point Circle K organization (the student-led, collegiate division of Kiwanis International) to help enable their community service efforts.
Movies in the Park
The club sponsored and members volunteered at Portage County's Movies in the Park.
Books from the Heart and Reading First!
Our club provides monetary support to purchase and distribute age appropriate books and reading materials for children in the Stevens Point School District and at local community events.
We donate non-perishable food items to Operation Bootstrap to help families in need in Portage County.
Green Circle Trail
Our club keeps the Green Circle from Chase Bank to Bukolt Park litter-free. Members sign up each spring for weekly walk-throughs of this section.
Portage County Cultural Festival
Club members volunteered at the Portage County Cultural Festival.
Stevens Point YMCA
We made it possible for 15 Stevens Point YMCA teens to attend a Wisconsin Rapids Rafters baseball game.
